Why we label products Live, Demo, MVP, and Coming Soon
Why honest product maturity labels convert better than launch hype - and how we use Live, Demo, MVP, and Coming Soon across HATT.
Most product companies hide where they really are. We put it in the hero.
At HATT Product Lab, every module carries a maturity label: Live, Private Demo, MVP, or Coming Soon. SkinToScan is live. Grants Platform and Asset Inventory are private demos. Future systems sit in the lab queue. That is not a disclaimer buried in the footer - it is part of the product story.
Honesty about maturity is a conversion feature, not a weakness.
01Why labels matter in B2B
Enterprise and institutional buyers have been burned before. They've seen "launch" pages for products that were slide decks. They've sat through demos that couldn't survive a second meeting. When a vendor hides status, buyers assume the worst.
Transparent labels do three things:
- Qualify visitors immediately. A grant manager who needs production software knows to request a private demo - not expect a self-serve signup that doesn't exist.
- Build trust through specificity. "Private Demo / MVP" is more credible than "Revolutionary platform."
- Reduce sales friction. Your first conversation starts with shared facts, not detective work.
02Our maturity system
| Label | What it means | What you can do |
|---|---|---|
| Live | Public product, real users | Visit, test, integrate |
| Private Demo | Working product, guided access | Book walkthrough |
| MVP | Early validation, pilot-ready | Request demo, give feedback |
| Coming Soon | In lab queue | Join waitlist, partner |
We publish this registry on our Trust center - not because regulation requires it, but because it is how we want to be evaluated.
03What we refuse to do
We do not use fake aggregate ratings. We do not invent user counts. We do not label demos as "live" because the UI looks polished. The About page states what we avoid: unsupported claims, hype-driven marketing, custom agency retainers masquerading as products.
04The commercial upside
Counterintuitively, transparency speeds deals. Buyers who need production software self-select out of demo-only modules. Buyers who want to co-develop or pilot lean in. Partners know exactly what they're getting.
If you're evaluating HATT modules, start at Trust - then book a walkthrough for anything marked Demo or MVP.
